As this post, ‘The WGA Strike’, quite correctly points out; it is the story writer that gets things started in the film industry. There is a sad tendency for the writer to get forgotten in the creative process. Be honest; when you are watching a thriller that is full of twists and turns, when was the last time that you wanted to meet the screen writer? It is the handsome male lead, the sexy actress or the big budget special effects that get all of the attention.

I am sure that this situation suits some writers who do not want fame, but it would be nice if they got a choice in the matter.
