You know what we are talking about here. It starts with the sound of your cat gagging as it’s throat moves up and down in a meager attempt to rid of the nasty little furry blob. You go running to pick your cat up and place him outside so as not to stain your carpet with this unwanted mess, but as you do so, out it comes and instead of a small pile of furball goo, you are left with a trail of it. How in the world can you stop your cat from leaving you with these unpleasant little treasures? Short answer, you can’t. It is a normal process your cat goes through. You can, however, reduce the amount of times your cat spits up furballs by following some of the tips you read about here.
This will not only help keep your carpet free from these little spittle spots, but will also keep your cat healthier. Another thing to consider if your pet is coughing up too many furballs is that something else may be wrong with them. This happened to my cat a few months ago, and I then ran into some rather large vet bills, so if I have any advice for you it would be to look into pet insurance now!
